تخطط شركة BAE باجراء اطلاقين لصواريخ Meteor جو-جو الابعد من مجال الرؤية البصري خلال 2014 ويأتي هذا كجزء من الجهود المتعددة الجنسيات الرامية لادخال هذا السلاح الخدمة على متن طائرات التايفون ,, الاطلاقين والذي اطلق عليهما اسم F1 و F2 ستجري ضمن منطقة مجموعة هبريس الصاروخية التابعة لوزارة الدفاع البريطانية في شمال غرب اسكتلندا
وآخر اختبار تم اجراءه أتى بعد توقيع عقد دمج صواريخ Meteor بين وكالة NETMA والشركاء الصناعيين الاربع في يونيو 2013 اذ تستهدف الدول الاربع الى ادخال صواريخ Meteor للخدمة ليحل مكان صواريخ AIM-120 AMRAAM والذي يخدم كصاروخ جو-جو متوسط\طويل المدى ابتدائي على طائراتهم التايفون ,, ومن المتوقع ان تجرى اختبارات End To End على صواريخ Meteor خلال اوائل 2016
شركة BAE وشركائها يمضون قدماً على العمل على اختبارات الطيران لصواريخ Storm Shadow اذ يجري حالياً تمويل هذه الاعمال من قبل الشركات الصانعة قبل من ان يتم تمويلها من الحكومات العملاء ,, وتخطط BAE ان يتم ادخال صواريخ Storm Shadow الخدمة على التايفون في العام المقبل

BAE Systems plans to conduct two firing of the MBDA Meteor beyond-visual-range air-to-air missiles during 2014 as part of the multinational effort to bring the weapon into service on the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft.
The firings, dubbed F1 and F2, will take place on the UK Ministry of Defence's Hebrides missile range in the northwest of Scotland, Andy Pegg, BAE Systems' Typhoon Flight Test Manager, told IHS Jane's on 11 February.
The latest tests follow on from the June 2013 contract between the Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency (NETMA) and the Eurofighter partner companies to integrate the Meteor on the Typhoon. The UK, German, Italian and Spanish air forces all intend for the Meteor to replace the Raytheon AIM-120 AMRAAM as the primary medium/long-range air-to-air weapon on their Typhoons.
This year's tests will see guided firings of the Meteor but will not involve the use of airborne targets, said Pegg. They follow on from an industry-funded separation trial, dubbed F-Naught, from a Typhoon over the Aberporth range in Wales in December 2012. Pegg said this trial "went well" and achieved all its objectives, with a "clean release" that nearly mirrored pre-test modelling.
The final phases of the Meteor integration trials campaign are still being defined by the Eurofighter partner companies and customer nations, Pegg said, but added that they could involve end-to-end trials of the full weapon system against airborne targets over the Hebrides ranges in the early part of 2016.
"The campaign will probably culminate in a full end-to-end trial but the requirements are not yet refined," he said. "It will depend on the partners. Most customers demand that we show them the whole thing works."
Once the trials campaign concludes, the partner companies will provide the partner governments with release-to-service or equivalent operational and safety clearances to allow their air forces to operate the Meteor from their Typhoons.
BAE Systems and its partners are also moving ahead on work to flight test what is termed the "Storm Shadow/Taurus combination" of weapons. This work is currently being funded by the Eurofighter partner companies ahead of the funding of full development from customer governments.
In the past three months Alenia Aermacchi in Italy has flown an MBDA Storm Shadow air-launched cruise missile (ALCM) on a Typhoon and Airbus Defence & Space in Germany has carried out flight trials of an MBDA/Saab Taurus KEPD 350 ALCM.
Pegg said BAE Systems plans to fly a Storm Shadow on a Typhoon next year. The aim was to allow the Typhoon to carry two Storm Shadows on the aircraft's wing centre stations, as well as a selection of air-to-air weapons.

انهت التايفون بنجاح الجزء الاول من سلسلة تجارب اطلاق صواريخ Meteor جو-جو الابعد من مدى الرؤية وذلك لدمج هذا الصاروخ على التايفون والتي تقودها شركة BAE Systems
وبعد توقيع العقد في منتصف عام 2013 تهدف التجارب لاثبات ان الصاروخ يعمل بشكل فعال من على الطائرة
وقد اجريت التجارب في نوفمبر 2014 في منطقة مجموعة هبريس الصاروخية التابعة لوزارة الدفاع البريطانية لاختبار وتطوير عملية دمج الصاروخ مع نظام التسليح في الطائرة فضلاً عن توسيع قدرة التخلص من الصاروخ عن طريق الاطلاق من على ارتفاعات وسرعات مختلفة
ايضاً طلعات الاختبار هذه كانت تختبر تكامل الصاروخ مع نظام التسليح لاجل الرماية الوشيكة وآخر لاجل الرماية باستخدام وظائف وصلة البيانات بين الصاروخ والرادار
والصاروخ Meteor تصنعه شركة MBDA وموجهة برادار نشط صمم ليقدم قدرات اطلاق متعددة ضد اهداف مناورة بعيدة مثل الطائرات النفاثة والمركلات الغير آهلة والصواريخ الجوالة في بيئة تشويش الكتروني مكثفة وهو قادر للعمل خلال الليل او النهار وفي جميع الظروف الجوية
سوف يتم المزيد من تجارب الاطلاق قبل ان يتم الدمج الكامل في عام 2017
FURTHER METEOR FIRING TRIALS BEGIN FOR TYPHOON
Lancashire, United Kingdom: A Typhoon aircraft has successfully completed the first in a series of live firings of the MBDA Meteor Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile. This continues the series of trials led by BAE Systems to demonstrate integration of the Meteor missile with Typhoon’s weapon system.
Following contract signature in 2013 for the full integration of Meteor onto Typhoon, the trials continue to demonstrate that the weapon operates effectively with the aircraft.
Led by BAE Systems with support from MBDA, Selex, Qinetic and MOD, the trials were conducted in November 2014 at the MOD’s Hebrides firing range in the UK and further developed and tested the integration of the missile with the weapon system as well as expanding the jettison envelope by conducting firings at different altitudes and speeds. The trials also tested the interface of the missile with the weapon system for both pre-launch priming and post launch datalink functions between the missile and radar.
Test pilot Nat Makepeace flew the sortie and said: “The aircraft and the weapon performed exactly as expected. It’s very easy and intuitive to operate, and the trials demonstrated that we can operate in an expanded envelope safely and accurately. This is a significant step forward for the full integration of the Meteor missile onto the Typhoon aircraft.”
Produced by MBDA, Meteor is an active radar guided missile designed to provide a multi-shot capability against long-range manoeuvring targets, such as fast jets, small unmanned aerial vehicles and cruise missiles in a heavy electronic countermeasures environment.
Capable of engaging air targets during day and night, and in all-weather conditions, the Meteor will complement Typhoon’s existing missile systems, providing pilots with a greater choice of weapons during combat.
Further firing trials are scheduled to be carried out as part of the Meteor Integration contract to fully expand the launch envelope and weapon system integration which will culminate in the integration being complete in 2017.
These trials take place in a year that has seen progress across a range of programmes for Typhoon. The UK RAF are now operating the most advanced Typhoon to date with the latest Phase 1 Enhancement package now in operation. This upgrade delivers true simultaneous swing-role capability to Typhoon. Progress is also being made across a number of weapons programmes including the award of a full integration contract for the Storm Shadow weapon and the first multiple release of a Paveway IV bomb. A £800m contract to develop and fit the Captor E-Scan radar was signed in November which will give Typhoon one of the most advanced radar systems in the world, providing a wider field of regard than any other combat aircraft. Typhoon is already regarded as one of the world’s leading swing-role combat aircraft and continues to be upgraded to provide decades of effective, relevant effect.

وبعد الانتهاء من المرحلة الاولى والتي شملت جمع البيانات الديناميكية للصاروخ وهو على التايفون ، فان المرحلة التالية ستكون اختبارات القاء صاروخ هيكلي من الطائرة (Inert Drop-Tests) ثم ستتبع باختبارات جمع البيانات المحيطية (Environmental Data Gathering Tests)

Italy’s Alenia Aermacchi has confirmed that the first phase of tests for the integration of the Storm Shadow long-range missile onto the Eurofighter Typhoon has been completed.
Storm Shadow is a long range, all-weather, high precision, stand-off weapon already in service on Royal Air Force Tornados. It has been proven in operations to great effect in Iraq and Libya neutralising hardened command bunkers and other high value targets. The stealthy weapon design allows it to penetrate layered air defences whilst the long range of Storm Shadow allows it to be launched outside those defences increasing the launch aircraft survivability.
In the deep attack role Eurofighter Typhoon will carry two Storm Shadow missiles whilst maintaining the ability to carry 8 air-air missiles. This will enable Eurofighter Typhoon to fight its way in and out of the combat area.
Alenia Aermacchi, one of the three Eurofighter Partner Companies behind the Eurofighter Programme today (August 4th) confirmed details behind the tests confirming they first began in December 2013 with development aircraft IPA2.
The tests have already covered a number of aspects of aeromechanical missile integration onto the aircaft and further flight trials are planned as the programme moves through to full integration. The next step in the Programme will be ‘inert drop-tests’ followed by environmental data gathering tests. Avionic flights will then be performed to test funtional integration including dedicated missile release tests.
Alberto Gutierrez, Chief Executive Officer of Eurofighter, said: “After these flight tests and after the completion of the qualification process Storm Shadow will enter into the list of available payloads. This will see the realisation of a further consolidation of the Eurofighter Typhoon’s air-to-ground capabilities. It is another significant step on the capability enhancement routemap.”
At the Farnborough International Air Show earlier this month, Eurofighter confirmed that NETMA, the NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency, had officially placed an order with it to integrate the Storm Shadow long range attack missile onto the aircraft.
Under the terms of what is known as a ‘Contract 4’ order from NETMA, Eurofighter will work with the three Eurofighter Partner Companies (Alenia Aermacchi, Airbus Space & Defence, and BAE Systems) and their supply base – including MBDA, the makers of the Storm Shadow missile on the integration programme.

FIRST STORM SHADOW MISSILE RELEASE FROM A EUROFIGHTER TYPHOON IS A SUCCESS
The Italian aerospace and defence company Alenia Aermacchi, working closely with its Eurofighter partners, has successfully conducted the first release of a Storm Shadow missile from a Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft as part of its missile integration programme.
The trials took place in November and saw the missile being released from the aircraft and tracked by radar up to impact.
Storm Shadow provides a significant leap in the Eurofighter Typhoon’s operational capabilities, enabling the platform to deploy multiple weapons at a very long range well clear of danger from air defences.
Alberto Gutierrez, Chief Executive Officer of Eurofighter GmbH said: “The trials represents an important step forward in the development and integration of the Storm Shadow weapon system onto the Eurofighter Typhoon. The results help pave the way for full integration of the missile onto the aircraft for operational use.”
In parallel to the flight trials led by Alenia Aermacchi, another Eurofighter partner, BAE Systems, has completed the first trial installation of a Storm Shadow missile onto a RAF Typhoon with support from weapons provider MBDA. The confirmation of this procedure is an essential part of the integration contract.
Storm Shadow, already in service with the Italian Air Force and Royal Air Force Tornados, is a conventionally armed, stealthy, long-range stand-off precision weapon designed to neutralise high value targets.
The new weapons system will add the capability to strike in day or night in all-weather conditions, well-defended infrastructure targets such as port facilities, control centres, bunkers, missile sites, airfields and bridges that would otherwise require several aircraft and missions. This is a new addition to the Eurofighter Typhoon’s potent simultaneous multi-/swing-role capabilities.
Powered by a turbo-jet engine, with a range in excess of 250 km, the Storm Shadow missile weighs approximately 1.300kg and is just over 5 metres long. It will be available to operators when the Eurofighter Typhoon Phase 2 Enhancements become operational.

The first tests on Storm Shadow integration for the Eurofighter began in December 2013 with development aircraft IPA2 operated by Alenia Aermacchi. Initially the Early Weapon Integration Flexibility tests featured a configuration of 2 Storm Shadow missiles, 2 AIM-9L Air-to-Air missiles, and 4 under fuselage Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM).
Six further flights were then completed in the following weeks to assess the Storm Shadow’s compatibility with the Eurofighter’s Air Data System and Flutter & Structural Coupling tests were also carried out. An additional later flight was then performed with baseline configuration (2 AIM-9L, 4 under fuselages AMRAAM and 1 Fuel Tank only) for comparative analyses purposes. The assessment of the Performance & Loads on the aircraft while carrying the missiles was done in March 2014 in a programme known as Extended WIF phase 1. Five flights were performed with the Storm Shadows installed and a further three with baseline configuration.
The recent inert drop-tests and store release trials will now be followed by work on the instrumented missiles for the Environmental Data Gathering tests known as Phase 3. Additional work will include flights with the automatic pilot set for new aircraft configuration, and further flights for assessing handling qualities.

UK awards Typhoon-Brimstone study contract
The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has awarded BAE Systems a GBP5 million (USD8.5 million) study contract to evaluate integrating the MBDA Brimstone missile system onto the Eurofighter Typhoon combat aircraft.
The contract, which was announced on 19 June, is geared not just at equipping the Typhoon with the Brimstone air-to-surface missile by 2018, but with exploring a common launcher approach which could also be used for other multiple weapons stores such as SPEAR 3.
Wind tunnel tests of the Typhoon-Brimstone combination are already taking place at BAE Systems' facility in Warton, the company said.
This initial study contract is part of a wider weapons upgrade package that is focused on delivering a full air-to-ground capability for the Typhoon in time for the retirement of the Panavia Tornado GR.4 from UK Royal Air Force (RAF) service in 2019.
Along with Brimstone, the Eurofighter consortium is currently working towards integrating the MBDA Storm Shadow and Taurus cruise missiles to give the Typhoon a stand-off strike capability. Also, Airbus Defence and Space officials recently disclosed that anti-shipping missiles, such as the Boeing AGM-84 Harpoon, and MBDA Italy Marte are also being considered to give the Typhoon a maritime strike capability.
Of all the weapons systems being integrated (work is also ongoing to fit the MBDA Meteor beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile), it is the Brimstone that Eurofighter officials have described as being 'a game changer'. Already fielded on the Tornado in Afghanistan and Libya, the Brimstone is a low-yeild munition designed to reduce the risks of collateral damage.
"RAF crews now choose to use the Brimstone in preference to the gun, as it is a one-shot pass with a guaranteed kill. During Operation 'Ellamy' in Libya in 2011, UK government ministers would be reassured when told the Brimstone would be the weapon used to strike a particular target," Russ Martin, MBDA weapons integration capability military adviser, noted at the recent ILA Berlin Airshow in May.
As well as being used to strike land targets, the Brimstone also has a utility against fast inshore attack craft (FIAC). During the ILA event, Eurofighter officials showed video footage of Typhoons simultaneously launching up to six Brimstone missiles against FIACs during trials.
When fully integrated, the Typhoon will be able to carry 12 Brimstones on four launcher packs of three missiles each.

استخدم في هذه الطلعات ستة صواريخ موزعة على حاملين ثلاثيين تحت الاجنحة وقد كانت الصواريخ المستخدم خاصة بالتدريب لاجل برهنة امكانية تركيب هذه الصواريخ على الطائرة وايضاً حملت الطائرة بقنبلتين موجهتين طراز Paveway IV والتي تبين القاعدة الاساسية لمرحة التعزيز الثالثة P3E لعمليات جو-سطح والتي توفر قدرات تعددية المهام لاسطول طائرات التايفون التابعة لسلاح الجو الملكي البريطاني لمعالجة مجموعة واسعة من الاهداف وتقديم مجموعة متنوعة من الآثار تناسب دقة السلاح
وقد صرح طيار الاختبار Andy Blythe بهذا الحدث "ان صواريخ Brimstone مرنة للغاية قتالياً منخفضة الاثار الجانبية كما برهنتها طائرات التورنيدو GR4 ، اما صواريخ Brimstone 2 فهي التكرار التالي للسلاح بناءاً على نجاحاته السابقة وسوف توفر لسلاح الجو البريطاني قدرات قوية بلا شك ، وعندما يقترن النظام مع التايفون وقنابل Paveway IV سوف تكون التايفون قادرة على الاشتباك مع مجموعة واسعة من الاهداف المحتملة"
صواريخ Brimstone ذات نمط توجيه ثنائي الحالية والتي سوف تستبدل بصواريخ Brimstone 2 هي فعالة ضد اصعب التحديات وضد الاهداف ذات السرعة العالية والمناورة فوق البر او البحر على حد سواء
وكضمان منخفض ، السلاح مبرهن قتالياً لعمليات الدعم الجوي القريب من قبل سلاح الجو البريطاني في كلاً من افغانستان وليبيا وآخرها في العراق بواسطة طائرات ترونيدو GR4
تثبيت صواريخ Brimstone على التايفون يأتي في السنة التي شهدت تقدماً في البرامج التطويرية لتعزيز التايفون وهذا يعطي دلالة على اداء وقدرة متفوقين للطائرة فحالياً التايفون التابعة لسلاح الجو البريطاني تعمل بحزمة مرحلة التعزيز الاول P1E والتي تضيف قدرات تعددية المهام كما احرز تقدم في البرامج التسليحية الاخرى مثل توقيع عقد دمج الصواريخ الجوالة Storm Shadow واجراء المزيد من التجارب الحية على صواريخ Meteor للقتال الجوي المتقدم بالاضافة الى توقيع عقد دمج وتطوير الرادار E-Scan الشهر الماضي
TYPHOON FITTED WITH BRIMSTONE MISSILE FOR THE FIRST TIME
Warton, Lancashire: BAE Systems has completed the first full trial installation of MBDA’s Brimstone missile onto a Typhoon aircraft. The trial fit is an important milestone in demonstrating the integration of the missile with the aircraft and follows the successful completion of an initial £5M study contract awarded to BAE Systems by the UK’s Ministry of Defence earlier this year. The trials are helping to pave the way for Brimstone 2 integration for the UK’s Royal Air Force (RAF) by 2018.
Six Brimstone missiles were fitted to the aircraft, each wing carrying a launcher with three missiles. Training missiles were used for the purposes of the trial and demonstrated that the weapon can be fitted to the aircraft. The aircraft was also fitted with two Paveway IV precision guided bombs, showing the baseline Phase 3 Enhancements Air-to-Surface configuration which will provide RAF Typhoon operators with a multi-role platform capable of addressing a wide range of target sets and delivering a variety of proportional precision weapon effects.
Andy Blythe, BAE Systems Test Pilot said: “Brimstone is an extremely flexible combat low collateral damage missile which was proven on the Tornado GR4. Brimstone 2 is the next iteration of the weapon and building on its previous successes, will undoubtedly provide the RAF with a potent capability. When the system is paired with Typhoon and Paveway IV, the aircraft will be able to engage a huge cross section of potential targets.”
The current Dual Mode Seeker Brimstone which Brimstone 2 replaces, is effective against the most challenging, high speed and manoeuvring targets over land and sea. As a low collateral, close air support weapon it is already combat proven by the RAF in Afghanistan, Libya and most recently in Iraq on the Tornado GR4.
Fitting of the Brimstone missile comes in a year that has seen progress across a range of enhancement activities for Typhoon, providing proof of the aircraft’s superior capability and performance. The UK RAF are now operating the most advanced Typhoon to date with the latest Phase 1 Enhancement package now in operation. This upgrade delivers true simultaneous swing-role capability to Typhoon. Progress has also been made across a number of weapons programmes including the award of a full integration contract for the Storm Shadow weapon and further trials to fully integrate the Meteor Beyond Visual Range Air-To-Air missile.
In addition an EUR1bn contract to develop and fit the Captor E-Scan radar was signed on 19 November 2014 which will give Typhoon one of the most advanced radar systems in the world, providing a wider field of regard than any other combat aircraft.
