التايفون في سلاح الجو الايطالي بدأت في اجراء اختبارات على عمليات قصف جو-ارض كجزء من اختبار وتقييم هذه القدرات على التايفون

The Italian Eurofighter Typhoons are involved in the OT&E in the air-to-ground mission.

In the last weeks, the Italian Air Force Typhoons currently deployed to Decimomannu airbase in Sardinia have flown with Litening targeting pods and inert GBU LGBs (Laser Guided Bombs), the first sign of their involvement in the OT&E (Operational Testing and Evaluation).

Indeed, the Italian F-2000s (as the aircraft are designated within the Italian Air Force) are conducting tests aimed at assessing their potentiality in the air-to-ground role: not only is a multi-role Typhoon capable to carry Paveways and JDAMs (Joint Direct Attack Munitions), already used by the ageing Tornado and AMX (that will be replaced by the F-35 in the future), useful for the Aeronautica Militare as it is for the Royal Air Force, but it could also be more appealing for potential foreign buyers.

Although the air superiority role remains priority, considered their ability to use the ordnance in inventory for other aircraft (including the Storm Shadow air launched staff off missile), the Eurofighter will possibly be used in the swing role or as “back up” attack platforms within the Italian Air Force for several years to come.

وايضاً تعمل من على مقاتلات التايفون والتورنيدو في القوات الجوية السعودية ومتوقع ان تجهز بها عمان مقاتلاتها التايفون







RAF To Be Equipped With Bunker Busting Version of Paveway IV


LONDON — British combat jets are on course to be armed with a new bunker busting version of the Paveway IV precision guided bomb.

Raytheon UK, the weapon’s maker, is conducting preparatory work using an existing contract with the MoD ahead of a possible deal next year to equip Royal Air Force and Fleet Air Arm jets with a compact warhead.

“Work to develop a potential future compact penetrator capability on Paveway IV is being carried out under an existing post design services contract between the MoD and Raytheon Data Systems. This work involves clarifying the requirement and carrying out a range of preliminary design work activities,” the MoD said a statement.

A spokesman for Raytheon UK declined to comment.

The penetrator technology work is part of a weapon update known here as the Selective Precision Effects At Range (Spear) Capability 1 program.

The company, along with QinetiQ and Thales UK, has already undertaken a 25-month program aimed at reducing the technical risk of integrating the warhead and fuze on Paveway IV.

The contractors carried out ground trials at the UK’s Pendine test range in 2012.

A new warhead and fuze for the Paveway IV would replace earlier generation weapons like the Paveway III bunker buster used by the Royal Air Force in Libya in 2011.

The new generation Paveway IV has a 500-pound warhead compared with 2,000-pounds for the Paveway III.

Raytheon executives briefing reporters at a technology day at its Glenrothes facility earlier this year said the compact penetrator had the same outer mold line and mass of the current Paveway IV and used a novel discarding shroud design.

The executives said the penetrator warhead was one of several Spear capability enhancements being worked on.

Other possible updates include a low collateral damage warhead and a new laser seeker, said the executives. A decision on adopting these other capability improvements is still pending, said the MoD.

“We are always interested in ways to improve effectiveness and reduce collateral impact; a range of enhancements are under consideration to establish whether they would offer value for money benefits for Defence,” said the MoD.

Paveway IV is carried by RAF Tornado jets and was recently cleared for action onboard the Typhoon as part a wider package of enhancements.

Typhoon contractor BAE Systems announced earlier this month that two Paveway IVs had been released from the combat jet simultaneously for the first time during a recent flight test.

The tests included self-designation with laser guidance and GPS-only guided releases, said BAE in a statement.

Aside from the Tornado and Typhoon, the Paveway IV will also be fitted to the F-35B when it enters service with the RAF and the Royal Navy later in the decade.

The weapon has also been acquired by Typhoon and Tornado operator Saudi Arabia.

Executives here are now targeting Oman as a second Paveway IV export customer following their purchase of Typhoon jets. ■

ايضاً في حال التوصل الى اتفاق فانه من المحتمل ان تقوم اندونيسيا بالقيام بالتجميع النهائي للتايفون محلياً وعدد الطائرات التي تريد شرائها اندونيسيا هو 16 طائرة متوقع ان تكلف حوالي مليار دولار

يوروفايتر تعرض على اندونيسيا منشأة تجميع محلي في حال اختارت التايفون

خط التجميع النهائي في اسبانيا سوف يكتمل وينهي طلبية سلاح الجو الاسباني من التايفون خلال أواخر عام 2017\أوائل عام 2018 ، وعندئذٍ (اذا اختارت اندونيسيا التايفون) فانه يمكن نقل خط التجميع الاسباني كاملاً من مدينة Getafe الاسبانية الى مدينة Bandung الاندونيسية

وقبل ذلك الوقت ، سيتم ارسال المهندسين والفنيين الاندونيسيين الى اسبانيا ليعملوا على التايفون الاسبانية التي يجرى الان تجميعها لكي يتدربوا على التجميع ، بعد ذلك يمكن نقل خط التجميع الى اندونيسيا

الى جانب منشأة التجميع المحلي ، من الممكن ان تقوم هذه المنشأة بتصميم واختبار وانتاج الخزانات الوقود المتماثلة CFT للتايفون ، وهذا يجعل من اندونيسيا المزود الوحيد لهذه القدرات على التايفون والتي من الممكن ان تكون اول بلد يحصل على هذه الخزانات CFT

اما بالنسبة للبلدان الاخرى والتي تريد تزويد مقاتلاتها التايفون بخزانات الوقود المتماثلة CFT يجدر بها شرائها من اندونيسيا كونها المزود والمصدر الوحيد لهذه القدرات

ومن مزايا خزانات CFT الاخرى انها تعطي بصمة رادارية RCS اقل ومقاومة ايضاً اقل اذا ما قورنت بخزانات الوقود الخارجية

هذا وتتنافس كلاً من فرنسا بطائرتها Rafale وروسيا بطائرة Su-35 والسويد بطائرة Gripen NG وامريكا بطائرة F-16 على الصفقة الاندونيسية لاستبدال اسطول طائرات F-5 المتقادم في سلاح الجو لديها


Eurofighter proposes final assembly line, CFT works in RI

The European consortium making the Typhoon heavy jet fighter proposed on Tuesday the possibility of moving a final assembly line from Spain to Indonesia, should Indonesia pick its jet fighter to modernize the Indonesian Air Force fleet.

“What we bring to Indonesia is not just reliable protection for the nation, but the opportunity to build and maintain a genuine indigenous capability on the back of a proven partnership and all that goes with it,” said Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug GmbH export director Joe Parker.

He also claimed that no other jet fighter could fly faster, higher and with more weapons when it came to protect Indonesia’s vast maritime territory and airspace.

Parker was speaking at a master class session on Tuesday for aviation and defense journalists and writers.

Other speakers were industrial partnership manager Martin Elbourne and capability promotion manager Paul Smith.

“Our final assembly line in Spain will soon complete its production run as the Spanish Air Force will receive all of its ordered Typhoons by late 2017 or early 2018,” Elbourne said on Tuesday.

“If Indonesia decided to pick the Typhoon, we can move the final assembly line from Getafe to Bandung.”

He suggested sending Indonesian engineers and technicians to Spain to work on Spain’s last units of the Typhoon being made there, as well as to help make the initial number of Indonesia’s own planes.

“After the Indonesians learn the way to assemble the Typhoon, we can relocate the final assembly line,” he said.

Currently there are four final assembly lines for the Typhoon. The three other locations are in Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom.

The Typhoon, a heavy, dual-engine jet fighter, is one of among several contenders to replace the ageing, American-made Northrop F-5 E/F Tiger II operated by the 14th Squadron, based at the Iswahjudi Air Force Base in Madiun, East Java.

Other contenders are the French-made Dassault Rafale and Russian-made Sukhoi Su-35; both are also heavy, dual-engine jet fighters. There are also light, single-engine jet fighters under consideration: the American-made Lockheed Martin F-16 and the Swedish-made Saab JAS39 Gripen.

Elbourne said Eurofighter proposed to have the final assembly line at the PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PT DI) facilities in Bandung because of the state-owned airframe manufacturer’s long relations with the then Construcciones Aeronauticas Societal Anonima (CASA), which is now part of Airbus Defense and Space in the Airbus Group.

“It is a natural progression for PT DI to move from making transport aircraft to fighter aircraft,” he said.

Other than moving the final assembly line to Bandung, Elbourne also said that PT DI could design, test and manufacture conformal fuel tanks (CFT) for the Typhoon, making Indonesia the only supplier of such enhancements for the jet fighter.

“Indonesia could be the first country to equip Typhoons with CFTs, providing an extra range to reach the country’s vast maritime territory and airspace,” he said.

“Other countries that also need the CFTs would have to buy them from Indonesia as the sole source.”

CFTs are additional fuel storage tanks that allow a jet fighter to fly farther and also to linger longer while carrying more weapons.

CFTs have several advantages, such as a smaller radar signature and drag penalties when compared to drop tanks and they allow more armaments to be placed on hard points under a jet fighter’s wings or belly.

Elbourne said that by making CFTs, “PT DI will get first-hand experience working on a jet fighter, thus increasing its current scope of capability.”

“Such increased capability could be used to leverage Indonesia’s participation in the IFX/KFX jet fighter program.”

The IFX/KFX is a joint development between Indonesia and South Korea in which Indonesia has a 20 percent stake.

Eurofighter is currently displaying a full-scale Typhoon exhibition demonstrator at one of PT DI’s hangars in Bandung.

Other than inviting journalists, Eurofighter also hosted officials from the Defense Industry Policy Committee (KKIP) who came on Wednesday, along with bloggers, university students and lecturers, to learn about the latest technology being implemented on the Typhoon.

وخلال معرض سيول الدولي للطيران 2013 تم توقيع عقد مرحلة التعزيز الثانية P2E عن طريق اطلاق حزمة التطوير الثانية لطائرات الترانش الثاني T2-EP2
وايضاً في معرض فانبرا الجوي 2014 وقع عقد دمج صواريخ Storm Shadow على التايفون مع تحليق للطائرة IPA5 وهي تحمل الرادار Captor E Scan في اجواء المعرض

ما عندي علم بهذا الشي ، لكن الاكيد ان ادائها مرضي جداً سواءاً في مهام الدورية الجوية او في مهام القصف

بالنسبة لسؤالك الاول ، التايفون تستطيع بالفعل حمل والقاء قنابل JDAM الموجهة بالاقمار الصناعية GPS ، وسوف تعتمد عليها التايفون الايطالية الى جانب قنابل عائلة Paveway الموجهة بالليزر لمهام القصف جو-ارض ، كما جاء في الخبر في اول الصفحة بخصوص التايفون الايطالية (الملون بالاحمر)

اما السؤال الثاني ، الاصدار الرابع من هذه القنابل والتي تعرف ب Paveway IV ذات توجيه ثنائي بالليزر و GPS هي ذات وزن واحد فقط وهو 500 باوند او 227 كلغ هذا اولاً ، اما بالنسبة لقنابل زنة 2000 باوند (910 كلغ) فهي GBU-10 Paveway II الموجهة بالليزر والاصدار المعزز من نفس القنبلة EGBU-10 ذات توجيه ثنائي بالليزر و GPS ، نعم تستطيع التايفون حملها والقائها وقد جرت تجارب بهذا سابقاً على طائرة الاختبار الرابعة الاسبانية IPA4 وبعض التايفون في سلاح الجو الاسباني ، وهذه صور لها

بقي الاشارة الى ان تباين القنابل المستخدمة لدى مشغلي التايفون نظراً لاحتياج ومتطلبات كل سلاح جو على حدى واستراتيجيته المختلفة عن غيره

مثلاً ايطالياً ستعتمد على قنابل GBU/EGBU-16 و قنابل JDAM والمانيا اتوقع ستحذوا حذوها ، اسبانيا كذلك ستعتمد على قنابل GBU/EGBU-16 وايضاً GBU/EGBU-10 ، اما بريطانيا فانها استخدمت قنابل GBU/EGBU-16 وحالياً تعتمد على قنابل Paveway IV ذات التوجيه الثنائي وتطور نسخة خاصة من هذه القنبلة مجهزة برأس خارق للتحصينات بدلاً من استخدام قنابل GBU-24 Paveway III زنة 2000 باوند

اما السعودية فتعتمد على قنابل GBU/EGBU-16 ، GBU/EGBU-10 ، Paveway IV في مهام القصف جو-ارض واتوقع انها ستضيف قنابل JDAM ايضاً
