WASHINGTON — Two Arab states have ordered a U.S. air-to-ground missile.Jordan and Saudi Arabia ordered the Hellfire missile from the United States.The U.S. Defense Department has awarded Hellfire Systems a $28.4 million contract to supply Jordan and Saudi Arabia with missiles.“Work will be performed at Orlando, Fla., with an estimated completion date of Nov. 30, 2016,” the Pentagon said.In a statement on April 30, the Pentagon said Indonesia, Jordan and Saudi Arabia would receive 372 Hellfire-2 missiles. The three countries ordered such weapons as AGM-114R, AGM-114R-3 and AGM-114P-4A.Hellfire has been employed on U.S.-origin helicopters, particularly theAH-64 Apache attack helicopter. The Pentagon did not detail the allocationof the latest award.
