بالفعل هي قوة صاعدة وتريد مجابهة الصين ... ولكن للمحافظة على بقاء القوة نحتاج الى مكافحة الفساد ولا أرى أي جهد هندي بالعكس دولتهم وصلت للانحلال الاخلاقي الفظيع حتى اصبحوا يغتصبون السائحات !!

الهند تطلق قمرها الصناعي العسكري المصنع محليا GSAT-7



India's first dedicated military satellite was launched successfully from French Guiana on 30 August.

The GSAT-7 surveillance and communication satellite was aboard a European Space Agency Ariane-5 space launch vehicle that "precisely placed [it] into the intended Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) 36,000 km above the earth after a flight of 34 minutes 25 seconds duration", the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said in a statement.

Indian Navy (IN) officials told IHS Jane's that the long-delayed satellite, which features UHF, S, Ku and C-band transponders, will enhance the navy's network-centric warfare capabilities and augment its maritime domain awareness in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR).

الهند تقرر شراء 6 طائرات c-130j إضافية + 7 طائرات c-17



NEW DELHI — Ahead of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s meeting with US President Barack Obama in Washington Sept. 27, the Indian Defence Ministry’s highest body on Friday cleared the acquisition of six C-130J Hercules transport aircraft from the US.

The aircraft are being purchased on a government-to-government basis at a cost of more than US $1 billion. The clearance to top the existing six C-130J aircraft with another six was made at a meeting of the Defence Acquisition Council.

The Lockheed Martin-built aircraft have been effective in rugged terrain, including mountains, for transporting troops and cargo, an Indian Air Force official said. “We are very happy with the performance of the Hercules, and the aircraft does everything which IAF wants,” the official said.

The Air Force has stood up a new squadron for flying the C-130J. Squadron 77 is nicknamed the “Veiled Vipers” with a motto “strike to kill.”

Last month, the Air Force landed the C-130J at the Daulat Beg Oldie airstrip in Ladakh bordering China in northern India, known as the world’s highest airfield. The airstrip’s elevation is 16,614 feet and the landing was considered a “strong gesture to China,” defense analyst Nitin Mehta said.

In 2007, India signed a deal to purchase six C-130Js for around $1.1 billion.

This month, the Air Force inducted the first of 10 C-17 transport aircraft contracted from the United States at more than $4 billion.

India’s military transport fleet includes the Russian-made IL-76 and Antonov-32 aircraft.

An Air Force source said India plans to buy six additional C-17s on top of the already contracted 10 aircraft.

القوات البحرية الهندية تتسلم أول طائرة من نوع hawk بريطانية الصنع لهدف التدريب ويتبقى 16 طائرة بأنتظار التسليم
والصفقة تشمل 57 طائرة من نفس النوع لكن 40 منها مخصص للقوات الجوية و17 فقط للقوات البحرية وتم توقيع الصفقة عام 2010


Indian Navy Receives First Hawk Trainer Jet

The Indian Navy has received the first of 17 Hawk Advanced Jet Trainers, becoming the third naval operator of the Hawk along with the US Navy and the Royal Navy.
The 17 Hawk aircraft ordered by the Indian Navy form part of a contract for 57 aircraft signed in 2010 of which 40

are for the Indian Air Force. Among its 18 customers worldwide, India is the largest operator of the Hawk Advanced Jet Trainer with 123 aircraft ordered to date, of which over 70 have been delivered to the Indian Air Force. Hawk trainers already in service with the Indian Air Force are performing well.

NEW DELHI --- India will finalise a $15 billion deal to buy 126 Rafale fighter jets from France's Dassault Aviation by March 2014, an Indian air force official said on Thursday, after the deal had been held up by differences over local manufacturing.

New Delhi picked the Rafale for exclusive negotiations in January 2012 after a bidding contest against Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft, made by a consortium involving EADS, Finmeccanica and BAE Systems.

But there were differences over the role of India's state-run Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd in manufacturing the jets.

Air Marshal S. Sukumar, deputy chief of air staff, told an aerospace conference the deal would be signed within the current financial year, according to a statement issued by conference organiser, the Confederation of Indian Industry.

Under the deal, Dassault is expected to send 18 ready-made jets and would manufacture the rest in India. Hindustan Aeronautics will be its lead partner.

Dassault had earlier expressed doubts about the ability of the local partner to make such a sophisticated fighter. Hindustan Aeronautics has been developing a light combat aircraft since the early 1980s with no success so far.

A spokesman for Dassault declined to comment. The French company is still hoping to finalise the deal by the end of the 2013.

India's government wants to encourage Indian companies to partner with foreign suppliers to reduce its reliance on imports and boost a domestic defence industry that is dominated by underperforming public sector companies.

A separate tender to buy and build 56 military transport planes at an estimated cost of 119 billion rupees ($1.9 billion) has been extended by two months, Sukumar also said. The Defence Ministry launched the tender in May to replace an ageing fleet of Avro jets.

The ministry had originally said the transport planes deal must be struck between a foreign supplier and an Indian private company. However, Heavy Industries Minister Praful Patel said last week that public-sector firms already making products for the armed forces should have been allowed to take part in the bidding.

The Defence Ministry has said it will look into Patel's complaint, potentially delaying the tender. Many of India's foreign arms purchases run into long delays because of accusations of corruption and bureaucratic complications.

الهند تستلم ال C-17 Globemaster III الرابعة







Boeing has delivered the fourth C-17 Globemaster III aircraft to the Indian Air Force (IAF), keeping the company on schedule to deliver a total of five aircraft to the IAF during 2013.

Boeing delivered the first C-17 under the contract in June. The final five aircraft will be delivered by in 2014.
