WASHINGTON --- The Defense Security Cooperation Agency notified Congress today of a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Republic of Korea for Phase 1 upgrades of 134 KF-16C/D Block 52 aircraft and associated equipment, parts, training and logistical support for an estimated cost of $200 million.
The Republic of Korea has requested a possible sale for Phase 1 of an upgrade of 134 KF-16C/D Block 52 aircraft to be completed in a potential two-phased approach. Phase 1 entails the sale of U.S. Government and contractor technical, engineering, and logistics support services to support the initial design and development for the overall upgrade program.
This phase will furnish detailed design requirements to include computers, displays, sensors and weapons, system design and pilot-vehicle interface efforts; initiate software design and development; engineering installation design (Group A); construction of an avionics systems integration facility and test stations; define support and training requirements; develop long-lead items; and prepare reports, analyses, and presentations to support system requirements and preliminary design reviews.
Phase 2, if implemented, relates to the KF-16C/D aircraft upgrade with advanced radar and updated avionics. In the event of such a sale, a subsequent notification will be prepared.
This notice relates only to Phase 1. The estimated cost is $200 million.تعليق

ستزود مقاتلة "تي – 50" الروسية الواعدة من الجيل الخامس بصاروخ ذكي "جو – جو" من طراز "كا – 77 أم" قادر على اقتفاء اثر الهدف وملاحقته مهما كانت مناوراته ومحاولاته للتخلص من الصاروخ. وسيسمح رأس الصاروخ الموجه ذاتيا بتدمير طائرة العدو أو صاروخه بعد أول إطلاق. كما إنه سيزيد من تكامل الصاروخ مع الأجهزة الرقمية المنصوبة في الطائر من الجيل الخامس التي تطلقه. ويقوم مكتب "ديتال" للتصاميم التابع لشركة "أسلحة الصواريخ التكتيكية" بتصميم نظام التوجيه الذاتي لهذا الصاروخ. أفاد بذلك كبير المهندسين في الشركة ميخائيل فيرشينين الذي قال إن هذا النظام يقوم على تكنولوجيا الهوائيات الشبكية الرقمية العالية الكلفة جدا . لكن تدمير حتى طائرة واحدة للعدو بهذا الصاروخ يعوض كل النفقات. وأضاف أن صنع الهوائيات الشبكية من هذا النوع يعتبر اتجاها تكنولوجيا واعدا ، علما أنها لا تصنع بشكل تجاري حتى الآن لا في روسيا ولا في العالم . ويأمل مكتب التصميم بأن يبدأ صنع أنظمة التوجيه الذاتي للصواريخ الجديدة بحلول عام 2015. المصدر: " RT " + "إيتار – تاس"

The US Navy has awarded a $1.3 billion worth contract to Bell-Boeing for the procurement of 22 V-22 Ospreys, which authorizes purchase of 100 V-22s over the next five years.The V-22 multi-year procurement contract(MYPII) will supply 93 MV-22s for the US Marine Corps and seven CV-22s to the US Air Force.There are currently 233 V-22 Ospreys in operation worldwide. V-22s have amassed more than 200,000 flight hours, with more than half of those logged in the past three years.

Lockheed Martin today delivered 300th C-130J Super Hercules, an MC-130J Commando II assigned to the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command.
The Commando II supports such missions as in-flight refueling, infiltration/exfiltration, and aerial delivery and resupply of special operations forces.
"The delivery of this 300th C-130J is a major achievement for the entire Super Hercules community. Together, we built an aircraft that it is ready for any mission, anywhere, anytime," said George Shultz, vice president and general manager of the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company's C-130 programs. "Partnerships and commitment are at the core of this Super Hercules, as was the case with the 299 C-130Js that came before it and with the many others that will follow."
Sixteen countries have chosen the C-130J Super Hercules to meet their air mobility needs.
The "J" is the standard by which all other airlift is measured in terms of availability, flexibility and reliability.
With more than 1 million flight hours, the C-130J has been deployed in two combat theaters where they operated at a very high tempo efficiently and reliably. In non-combat -- but equally harsh --environments, C-130Js are often the first to support missions like search and rescue, aerial firefighting, and delivering relief supplies after earthquakes, hurricanes, typhoons and tsunamis around the world.تعليق
