ففي مؤتمر صحفي عقد يوم الاربعاء بمعرض دبي للطيران 2013 اعلن ان الاختبارات الارضية لدمج صاروخي Storm Shadow & Taurus الجوالين قد اكتملت وستقومان برحلة الطيران الاختبارية قبل نهاية السنة
صاروخ ستورم شادو صنع شركة MBDA سيتم اجراء رحلة الاختبار الاولى له من خلال طائرة الاختبار الثانية IPA2 التابعة لشركة ايلينيا ايرماكي الايطالية في قاعدة ديسيمومانو الجوية بحيث يكون الدمج الكامل له على التايفون في غضون عام 2015
وبشكل متزامن مع ايطاليا اكملت المانيا الاختبارات الارضية لدمج الصاروخ تاوروس KEPD 350 الذي تصنعه شركة Taurus Systems GmbH الالمانية السويدية بحيث ستبدأ اختبارات الطيران من على متن طائرة الاختبار السابعة IPA7 التابعة لشركة كاسيديان الالمانية في الشهر القادم ديسمبر 2013

لوري هيلديتش رئيس قسم القدرات المستقبلية في شركة اليوروفايتر اعلن في المؤتمر الصحفي انه من المقرر ان تسلم الطائرة رقم 400 في 4 ديسمبر 2013 وستكون من نصيب سلاح الجو الالماني ,, وفي ربيع 2014 سيبلغ عدد ساعات طيران التايفون 250 الف ساعة طيران
وفي اكتوبر 2013 وقع عقد تطوير جديد للتايفون عرف ب Evolution Package 2 او EP2 ستشمل التطويرات الرادار وانظمة الطائرة المختلفة مثل DASS , MIDS , FCS , UCS ومقرر ان تنتهي هذه التطويرات في 2015
وايضاً برنامج التعزيز الاول Phase 1 Enhancement او P1E سوف يكتمل ويسلم لمشغلي التايفون قبل نهاية السنة الحالية وهذه البرنامج من شأنه ان يضيف قدرات تعددية للمهام بشكل فعال للتايفون

A series of major delivery commitments which will significantly enhance the capability of the world’s most advanced swing role/multi-role combat aircraft have been confirmed by the Eurofighter consortium.
Ground tests with the Storm Shadow and Taurus missiles have already been completed, and intensive flight test campaigns will begin imminently. Both missiles will further increase the air-to-ground capabilities of the Eurofighter Typhoon. The first Tranche 3 aircraft will perform its first flight by year-end and Phase 1 Enhancements will be completed within this timeframe. This was announced on Wednesday during a Media Briefing at the Dubai Air Show 2013. The event takes place from 17 to 21 November in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Laurie Hilditch, Head of Future Capability at Eurofighter GmbH, said: “These capability enhancements underline that our proven and trusted programme is well on track and that we achieve what we promise. Looking ahead, I am pleased to announce today that the 400th Eurofighter Typhoon is scheduled to be delivered to the German Air Force on 4 December 2013 and the global fleet is expected to achieve a quarter million flying hours in spring 2014.”
A major goal of the flight tests is to assess the Storm Shadow in flight and to achieve clearance for the full integration on the Eurofighter Typhoon by 2015. First tests will be undertaken on the Instrumented Production Aircraft 2 (IPA2) by Alenia Aermacchi at the Decimomannu Air Base in Sardinia/Italy. The Storm Shadow, manufactured by MBDA, is already in service with the Tornados of the Italian Air Force, Royal Air Force and Royal Saudi Air Force. It is a conventionally armed, stealthy, long-range stand-off precision weapon designed to neutralise high value targets. The weapon system will add the capability to strike by day or night in all-weather conditions, well-defended infrastructure targets such as port facilities, control centres, bunkers and bridges that would otherwise require several missions.
As part of the Storm Shadow integration programme, Cassidian, the Defence and Security Division of EADS, will start flight testing with the Taurus missile on the Instrumented Production Aircraft 7 (IPA7) in December 2013. Concurrent testing of these two similar missiles optimises the Storm Shadow integration and facilitates the future airframe integration of Taurus. Taurus KEPD 350 is a German/Swedish missile which is manufactured by Taurus Systems GmbH, a partnership between MBDA Germany and Saab Bofors Dynamics. The missile incorporates stealth characteristics and is designed to strike targets such as bunkers and command and control facilities.
The first Tranche 3 aircraft are currently in the final assembly lines in the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Spain. BAE Systems just completed the engines testing of its first Tranche 3 aircraft in Warton. First flight will take place before year-end. First delivery is scheduled for the Royal Air Force (RAF).
In order to further increase the operational capabilities of the combat aircraft, Eurofighter GmbH and the NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency (NETMA) signed a new Development Contract in October 2013. The package (known as Evolution Package 2) consists of a number of improvements including enhancements to the major avionics sensor such as the Radar and the Defensive Aids Sub Systems (DASS). It also includes enhancements designed to cater for the latest operational requests of customers and enhancements to the Multifunction Information and Distribution System (MIDS).
Since entry into service of the first Eurofighter Typhoon at the end of 2003, more than 390 Eurofighter Typhoons have been delivered to six nations: Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Austria and Saudi Arabia. In December 2012, Oman became the seventh customer ordering a total of twelve aircraft. Eurofighter Typhoon is currently in service at 20 operational units in the Northern and Southern hemisphere and up to now, the whole fleet has completed more than 210,000 flying hours worldwide.
Background information:
Eurofighter Typhoon is the most advanced new generation multi-role/swing-role combat aircraft currently available on the world market. Seven customers (Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Austria, Saudi Arabia and Oman) have already ordered the Eurofighter Typhoon. With 719 aircraft under contract and 571 on order, Eurofighter Typhoon is currently the largest military procurement programme in Europe. Its high technology strengthens the position of European aerospace industry in the international market. The programme secures more than 100,000 jobs in 400 companies. Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug GmbH manages the programme on behalf of the Eurofighter Partner Companies Alenia Aermacchi/Finmeccanica, BAE Systems and Cassidian in Germany and Spain, which are the most important aviation and aerospace companies in Europe with a turnover of about 126 billion euro (2012).

التايفون ستحلق وهي محملة بصاروخ Storm Shadow خلال معرض دبي للطيران 2013
ومن المقرر ان تحمل التايفون صاروخين ستورم شادو في نقاط التعليق الموجودة في منتصف الاجنحة وهي ذاتها التي تحمل خزانات الوقود الخارجية ,, وفي هذه الحالة فان التايفون سيكون بمقدورها حمل خزان وقود واحد في منتصف الطائرة الى جانب صاروخي ستورم شادو تحت الاجنحة
النموذج الذي عرض في معرض دبي كان مجهز بخزانات وقود متماثلة CFT في اعلى البدن وهذه الخزانات كان يخطط لها منذ اكثر من عقد والتي يبدوا انها قد اصبحت قريبة للواقع لكن لن تكون متوفرة الا في طائرات Tranche 3B
فالتايفون عندما صممت وصنعت لم تكن ال CFT احدى المطالب عليها لذلك والآن فانه يستوجب لاضافة هذه الخزانات تقوية النقاط الموجود في اعلى البدن مكان تموضع CFT وهذا يعني اعادة تصميم الاطارات في منتصف الهيكل حتى الى منطقة الكتف ,, وهذه التغيرات لن تكون موجودة الا في طائرات ترانش 3B
ال CFT لم تضاف بعد على التايفون ولكن تصميمها هو الآن جاهز وناضج جداً لذلك من المؤكد ان نراها في غضون سنتين من الآن

Eurofighter To Fly Storm Shadow 'Any Day

The Storm Shadow cruise missile will make its first flight on board a Eurofighter Typhoon during the Dubai air show, the Eurofighter Consortium tells Aviation Week ShowNews.
The weapon, a mock-up of which appears beneath the wing of the full-sized Typhoon model in the static display at the show, has long been part of the manufacturer’s plans for the platform. Its integration will be of particular interest at the show, given that current Typhoon customer Saudi Arabia and potential customer the United Arab Emirates both have the missile in their inventories.
“We’ve been working on Storm Shadow integration for the best part of a year, in terms of design concepts and avionics,” says Laurie Hilditch, Eurofighter’s head of future capabilities. Eurofighter has the aircraft “sitting technically ready to go, just waiting for the final pieces of legal paperwork.”
Italy-based development aircraft IPA2 is deploying to Decimomannu “and is due to fly the first Storm Shadow aerodynamic data-gathering missions any day,” Hilditch says. IPA7, in Germany, is ready to fly the Taurus missile, which is aerodynamically similar and will be used to derive associated data.
The planned configuration for a Storm Shadow-equipped Typhoon will be for two missiles to be carried, on the center-wing pylon currently used for fuel tanks. In that configuration, the aircraft would fly a single tank beneath the fuselage.
Also appearing on the Typhoon mockup at the show are conformal fuel tanks (CFTs) on the upper fuselage. Though these have been planned for over a decade, the option is only now nearing reality, but will only be available on Tranche 3B aircraft.
“When the aircraft was originally designed and built, CFTs were not part of the requirement,” Hilditch explains. “You need strengthened mounting points for CFTs, so we’ve redesigned frames in the centre fuselage, up on the shoulder area, and those provisions are built in to the Tranche 3B aeroplane.”
As no Tranche 3B aircraft has yet flown—BS116, the first Tranche 3A airframe, has completed ground tests and is due to make its first flight from BAE Systems’ Warton facility, possibly on December 13—Typhoon CFTs are still some way off. But, Hilditch says, “the detailed design [of the tanks] is pretty mature, so certainly within the next couple of years we’re going to be seeing CFTs around.”

وقد عرض مع النموذج المعروض حاضن التصويب سنايبر AN/AAQ-33 من الجيل الرابع صنع شركة لوكهيد مارتن الامريكية وهذا الحاضن يمكن دمجه على التايفون من خلال برنامج التعزيز الثاني P2E مع العلم ان الدول المصنعة اختارت حاضن Litening III الاسرائيلي بينما السعودية اختارت حاضن Damocles الفرنسي
وايضاً قد عرض في جناح شركة اليوروفايتر بالمعرض رادار Captor-E AESA ذو الصفيف المتحرك صنع شركة سيليكس الايطالية ومن المقرر ان تحمله طائرتي اختبار هما IPA5 احادية المقاعد و IPA8 ثنائية المقاعد
قدرات الحرب الالكترونية من المقرر اضافتها كجزء من برنامج التعزيز الثالث P3E بعد عام 2017 اذ ان بريطانيا تقوم الان بتمويل ابحاث في الطول الموجي المطلوب لقدرات الحرب الالكترونية تحت برنامج Bright Adder
وسيضاف ايضاً قدرات مضادة للسفن ضمن برنامج P3E ويمكن للزبائن اختيار اي صاروخ مضاد للسفن يريدونه على التايفون وقد عرض في معرض دبي الماضي صاروخ Marte-ER وكان الصاروخ RBS-15 من ضمن العرض المقدم للهند
Eurofighter Typhoon Path Becoming Clear

The path to a fully multi-role Eurofighter Typhoon is finally becoming clear. At a media briefing here tomorrow (Wednesday), the company hopes to announce the first test flight in Italy of an aircraft carrying the MBDA Storm Shadow cruise missile. The jet’s full operational clearance to drop smart bombs came recently. Meanwhile one of the prototypes will fly next spring with the Selex AESA radar.
Neither the Storm Shadow nor the AESA radar is yet under contract. There have been media reports that Saudi Arabian money is funding these integrations. Laurie Hilditch, Eurofighter capability manager, told AIN here Monday that these were being funded by industry. However, the four European partner nations for Eurofighter have agreed the scope of “evolution packages” (EPs) that add such capability. The EP2 package was recently signed, for delivery by the end of 2015. It contains various avionics and other upgrades, including modifications to the jet’s current Captor-M radar to allow firing of the MBDA Meteor BVRAAM.
Hilditch said that the program “was trying to make intelligent choices about weapons integration–the choices and sequence.” The Storm Shadow integration will likely form part of the Phase 2B Enhancement Package (P2E-B) for delivery by 2017. The equivalent German weapon–the KEPD 350 Taurus–will also soon fly on a test aircraft (IPA7 in Germany) “because the aerodynamics read across to the Storm Shadow clearance.”
Dubai Show Mock-up
While a Royal Air Force Typhoon flies in the aerial display here in Dubai, the full-scale model of the Eurofighter on the static display line is sporting conformal fuel tanks (CFTs) for the first time. These are being proposed to export customers, rather than the four European partners, although the latest-production Tranche 3 jets for Germany, Italy, Spain and UK do make structural provision for their carriage. According to Hilditch, the CFTs provide weapons carriage flexibility as well as longer range in air-surface missions. “Our preferred long-range attack configuration is two Storm Shadows, one on each center-wing pylon, plus CFTs and a supersonic fuel tank on the centerline. That allows us to retain the full air-to-air missile set for the swing role.”
A Lockheed Martin Sniper targeting pod is displayed below the full-scale model here. Hilditch said that fourth-generation pods like this can be integrated as part of P2E. The four partner nations chose the Israeli Litening pod, so the alternative Thales Damocles pod was integrated as part of the Al-Salam contract for the Royal Saudi Air Force. Of note, the Royal Saudi Air Force already flies the Sniper pod.
A model of the Selex E-scan (AESA) radar with its moving, wide-field-of-view antenna can be found in the Eurofighter display building outside the main hall. Debate rages between rival radar houses about the pros and cons of repositioning AESA arrays, but Hilditch said, “We’ve done a lot of work on the e-scan proposal.” Eurofighter is planning to fly two jets with the E-scan radar, the single-seat IPA5 and the twin-seat IPA8. “The E-scan radar will be available to the market when our current and potential customers need it,” the company said.
Eurofighter has made only passing reference to the electronic attack (EA) possibilities that are an inherent capability of AESA radars. The UK is known to be funding research into the waveforms required for EA under the Bright Adder program. This capability would likely be added as part of a Phase 3 Enhancement (P3E) package sometime after 2017.
P3E could also include anti-ship missiles (AShMs), which are likely to be required by current and future export customers. At the last Dubai Airshow, Eurofighter displayed a Marte AShM, but the Saab Rbs15 was in the offer that Eurofighter made to the Indian air force. Hilditch said that the customers could decide which AShMs they prefer.

BAE Systems and Selex ES team up for Typhoon EWOS support

BAE Systems and Selex ES have signed a teaming agreement which will enable them to work together on providing Electronic Warfare Operational Support (EWOS) for Eurofighter Typhoon customers.
The work will initially focus on current and potential future export campaigns and the Eurofighter Typhoon core programme where appropriate.
EWOS is the combination of mission support tools, processes, people and specialised training that is fundamental to transforming mission data into mission advantage for EW operators. Under the agreement, we will work with Selex ES to design, develop, deliver, integrate and support a potential export customer’s EWOS requirements, providing them with a sovereign EWOS capability.
Richard Hamilton, head of Support Services, BAE Systems, said: “This teaming agreement represents an important step for both BAE Systems and Selex ES. It provides both parties with the opportunity to work together to deliver Electronic Warfare support that will maximise the capability of the Typhoon platform for our Export customers. We are looking forward to working together to deliver this capability.”
Chris Bushell, SVP Electronic Warfare at Selex ES, said: “This agreement recognises Selex ES as BAE Systems’ strategic partner for electronic warfare and EW mission support.
“We’re looking forward to working even more closely with BAE Systems on EWOS and have agreed to also look at non-Typhoon EW support solutions where there is mutual benefit to doing so.”
